¡Hola! I'm back from Puerto Rico and have almost finished resizing my photos. You can see almost all of them on my Flickr set.
We stayed at the Conrad Plaza on the Condado, which was muy bonita. I LOVED our ocean-view terrace and our incredibly comfy bed. Oh, look, here's a photo of our bed—where all the magic happened!
Our trip lasted five days and was very fun, though I am not a hot-weather person and don't really see myself going to the Caribbean again anytime soon. I LOVED our hotel. There were three pools—oh look, here's a revealing shot of me in a swimsuit!
We spent most of our pooltime at this pool because it was unpopular and therefore uncrowded. It didn't have the swim-up bar or waterslide, but it was also lacking screaming children and drunken jackasses, which made it a win.
This is a photo of us looking kind of skeptical at the tour of El Yunque, Puerto Rico's beautiful rain forest. I was really looking forward to trekking through the woods, dodging wildlife and maybe working up a sweat. The reality was an hour-long bus ride, followed by three short photo-op stops in the forest. The mini-"hike" was a ten-minute paved stroll through the forest. You could see the road through the trees the entire time. Not exactly the getting-away-from-it-all experience I'd envisioned. Spyro was relieved there were no snakes.
Though I knew my feline buddies were in good hands back at home, I still missed them. This cat was one of hundreds of feral kitties that make the rocky shore around the big old fort El Morro, their home. He was friendly and looking for love (and possibly Pounce treats). I gave him some head-scratching and then he followed us for a while until he got bored.
Here's Spyro attempting a Puerto Rican dance move against a very beautiful blue wall.
Blue is possibly my favorite color and between the oceans and the old buildings, there was plenty of it in Old San Juan—even the cobblestones are a stunning shade of indigo.
Everyone kept telling us we HAD to check out the Parrot Club. I thought there would be parrots or some kind of entertainment. There wasn't. It was just a plain old bar/restaurant, albeit, a brightly colored one. This was taken on our final day in town, by the very sweet bartender.
Here's me right before checkout. My tears are fake—I had a good time, but I paid the price—Whitey McWhiterson screwed up with the sunscreen!
omg! you guys had the same tour of el Yunque that we did! Did they combine the amazing beach tour with it, because that was totally worth the lame tour and Debra getting sick on the bus.
