A couple different sites are reporting that Lux Interior died. I really hope it's not true.
I was lucky enough to interview him and Ivy a million years ago. They were both very sweet. They didn't have a publicist at the time and I was briefly living back at home with my parents. One night when I got home from work my mom gave me a puzzled look and said "A woman named Ivy Rorschach called!" I had left them a message, expecting to get a callback from a record company flack, but nope. Ivy was just taking care of business. I met up with them at the Barbizon hotel in midtown and had a very nice chat. I wonder if I even still have a copy.
Sad to hear about Lux--my sympathies to Ivy and his family and friends.
I only saw the Cramps once, opening for the Ramones in the late seventies in a huge, echoey venue more suitable for housing large quantities of livestock. Unfortunately, the Cramps sounded terrible there and I wasn't close enough to the stage to be able to see the crazed show I'm sure they were putting on. I always regretted not seeing them again in a proper setting.
Judy, if you ever find your interview with them and are able to post it, I'm sure it would be a treat. There's a chapter about Lux and Ivy in the RE/Search book "Incredibly Strange Music, Vol. 1," and it's a great read.

Thanks for breaking this news (to me, at least) - I got your Twitter posts that night at the bar.
