There's a line I kind of tossed off in my book that reads: "I could be dropped into a room packed with nothing but perfectly sane
men with jobs, and I would gravitate toward the one guy everyone else
was trying to avoid: the unemployed know-it-all with the chronic case
of psoriasis and a highly unsavory yen for his little sister (in his
defense, she was a half-sister)."
This line was reprinted in the Seattle Weekly excerpt and now I can't figure out if the psoriasis lobby is all up in arms over it, or if it's just one very angry psoriasis psufferer, posing as many. Check out some of the comments:
- Did your membership in the KKK run out and you decided to pick on another group of people with a disadvantage on this earth?
- How perverted for you to say that a person with Psoriasis is a pervert!
- Well Judy, I just hope that guy would have the sense to run a mile if he saw such a thoughtless, insensitive, and ignorant woman coming his way!
- Having PSORIASIS doesn't make us less of a person. It actually brings PURE kindness and PURE happiness in our hearts...
- I wonder if you still sleep at night...
Yep.
good god, what is wrong with people?

The first comment about the KKK and "another group of people with a disadvantage" is beyond prejudicial. Either that or not being white really is a disadvantage.

Remember Judy, in our PC-obsessed culture you're only allowed to persecute and ridicule the size-challenged. Oh wait. That wasn't very sensitive of me...

I could be dropped into a room with sane, employed, and well-mannered women and I'd gravitate toward the one who hates her father, is in debt up to her earlobes, hasn't cleaned her catbox in months, and longs for her angry psoriasis psufferer ex-bf.
You're not alone.

Be glad you didn't insult the lepers. When you diss them, it's a rumble nobody can cool--'cause how can you defend yourself against people who are melting?

itchy skin is no laughing matter folks! trust me people, year after year of red, angry skin can leave you feeling red and angry on the inside as well. *sob*
that said Judy, i'm sure you didn't set out to pick on the scabby (pun kinda intended) the day you wrote that line.
