A friend who'd read about my throw-pillow shopping expedition was kind enough to recommend I give Target a try. Great idea—I love Target!
Though they had a couple pillows I liked, they were a little pricey for something I wouldn't be able to look at in person first. What they had in spades were pillows that cracked me up and I immediately got out my Christmas list. How about this one—just perfect for the Carrie Bradshaw in your life. At only $26, far more sensible than a pair of Jimmy Choo's.
Oooh, or this one—wouldn't Carrie's ex, handy-man, Aiden want a nice pillow shaped like a powerdrill decorating his fave recliner?
Skittles fan? What better gift than with a Skittle pillow? Classy and delicious! (Target calls this a Smarties pillow, but any candy connisseur worth her artifical flavoring knows these aren't Smarties.)
Christmas is just around the corner, so maybe I should get this fetching little pup-in-a- santa-hat pillow . . . or perhaps I'll just see if I can find the same pic knitted into a festive holiday sweater. Decisions, decisions.
I've always loved the horsies and since I'll never be able to fit one in my apartment, maybe I'll just get this pillow. What a sentiment: "Life without horses . . . I don't think so!" True that!
After dicking around on Target's website for a while, I got serious. I made my way over to Whispering Pines. It was there that I found the motherlode. The holy grail of pillows. Behold, the New Jersey:
have you tried www.westelm.com?

Beware of West Elm! It's where my shame happened -- $20 each for throw pillows that turned out to be 2"x4"
Or maybe just check the dimensions and don't be an ass like me.

This pillow isn't a reference to those Smarties, but to chocolate Smarties.
They're rather like M&Ms but made with Cadbury chocolate (though owned now by Nestle).
I tried to include a link to the Nestle Smarties wiki page, but the tags didn't work.
