Let me first state that I am not in favor of murder, no matter what. I don't believe in the death penalty, and even though they annoy the crap out of me, I'd never advocate teenageracide. But anyone who's ever been through a horrible breakup can kind of maybe understand, just a little teensy bit, this poor schmoe's motivation.
First, he gets diagnosed with a fatal wasting disease and is given three painful years to live. Maybe. Then he finds out his wife is cheating on him. With an old friend of his. Who she's leaving him for. So he can waste away and die alone. Ouch.
He says his mind just went blank as he plunged the knife in and out of her. However, while I do understand his grief and fury, the fact that he just happened to have a big ole knife in his bedside table does kind of negate the crazy defense.
